Sure, it's about beer, but we're really about importing the Good Life:
Jason Dyer
Jason loves beer, but beer has not always loved him. In 2001, Jason learned that he has Celiac Disease. What the heck is that?! Jason thought the same thing. Basically, he can't consume the protein found in wheat, barley or rye. Yep, no wheat or barley, and, therefore, no beer. Or so he thought...
During his travels as Global Marketing Director for Nokia, Jason began to learn that there is another whole world of gluten-free beer in Europe...and not all of it stinks. In fact, some of it is pretty darn good. So, after stints at Google and even one as the CMO of a major news organization, Jason decided it was time to bring the best of European beer AND other great tasting products to the U.S. But, he knew he would need a strong partner in Europe to compliment him.
Mikko Makinen
Mikko also loves beer, and wine and cheese, and other amazing European epicurean delights. Jason knows this because he worked closely with Mikko for several years at Nokia's R&D center in San Diego, CA. So, Jason called him at home in Finland to talk about gluten free beer and their mutual aspiration for the Good Life. Since Mikko had >20 years of global business, product and operations management experience and Jason had >20 years of global marketing experience (and a Celiac's need for good beer options), a logical, highly complimentary partnership began to form. Mikko would source products from his location in Finland and Jason would nurture the partnerships and marketing programs necessary for their clients to win in the U.S. Together, they would offer craft brewers and other artisans, who would otherwise not have the means, a way to tap in to U.S. consumer.
